Today I’m sending a million billion hugs and kisses to Vikki over at The View Outside. Thanks to her, I’ve (finally) received my very first nomination for a blog award–Mrs. Sparkly’s Ten Commandments Award. Isn’t it gorgeous?
As a nominee, I’m required to answer a number of questions about myself. You know how I hate to talk about myself. But as it’s required, I’ll do my level best to answer the questions with candor, honesty, and the dignity they deserve.
Describe myself in seven words. Seven? Seriously? But I’m so damn complicated…
What keeps me up at night? In no particular order: too much coffee, thinking about various and sundry aspects of my work in progress, restless Chihuahuas, body functions, assuring myself it wasn’t about me, an overly warm room, and rarely, my partner’s snoring.
Who would I like to be? Well, if I can’t have him, why not be him? William Levy. Then I’d know how to speak Spanish, too.
What am I wearing right now? A fire engine red tank top and canary yellow cargo pants (available exclusively from Zumba Fitness International), white Nike ankle socks, and white Nike Airs with a white NBA headband and purely functional drawers.
What scares me? Violent weather–and people. Extremists. Dick Cheney…oh wait, you didn’t ask who scares me. Is being freaked out the same thing? Lately, the idea of being in tight spaces where people prevent me from moving totally creeps me out.
What are the best and worst things about blogging? The best thing is the ability to connect with people, some I know and many more I may never have a chance to meet in person. The worst thing is that awkward feeling I get after I realize something I’ve posted falls short of my normally high standards.
If I could change one thing about myself, what would it be? If I only get to change one thing, make me rich. You can do it, too. Just buy the hell out of my books when they come out.
Slankets, yes or no? No. I live in Georgia. Maybe if I lived in Canada…
Tell us something about the person who nominated you. VIcki is a sweet, caring woman with a great sense of humor who we’ll all know after the novel she’s working on becomes a bestseller.
Nominate five other blogs for the award: Okay. Some nominees nominate as many as 15 blogs. If you ask me, less is more so I’m only nominating five.
Pam and her blog, A Little Time With Me
My pal over at Crotchety Mama’s Random Walk
Even though she’s temporarily on hiatus, Amy at Fix It or Deal
Mairzeebp and Goodbye Whoopee Pie
Be sure to check out what Vikki’s up to over at The View Outside. Thanks again, doll. You made my day. Pop the bubbly, honey. It’s a red-letter day here in…

CONGRATS, my most brilliant cousin & favorite blogger!
Blast, you’ve already seen it! Lol 😉
I was just on my way over here to give it to you personally. I’m a bit late, I know, but I have no Internet access, so trying to get round everyone on my blooming phone!!!! ARGH!
Anyway, enough of me….I know you’ve been having a rough time recently so thought some sparkle would cheer you up 🙂
Thanks Vikki! And I’ve even fixed the way I spelled your name (sorry). I really appreciate you thinking about my blog for this award.
Yaay for you! I love your ramblings, personally, and now it’s official. You’re going to sell lots and lots of books and maybe get them made into a movie…then you can share your new wealth with your friends! Or at least say thank you at the Oscars!
Thanks for the plug, too. : ) I’m glad you like my words.
I sure hope you’re right, mama. Thanks for reading and I hope your nomination brings lots of new visitors to your blog.
Oh How I Do Love Sparkly Things!!! Thanks for the award!!! I posted.. but don’t see it on FB yet. Who knows if it will show up. Hope you’re having a great week!
Cheers! Well deserved. Thank you for the shout out. Do the kids still say that these days? I’m working on my post right now :).
You’re asking me what kids say these days??? Ha! Looking forward to your post…
