Hi, everyone! Long time, no see. I blame retirement for the extended absence. Contrary to expectations, blogging has not been a priority.
My intentions were good. I bought WordPress for Dummies — a massive tome that combines multiple volumes on various topics into a comprehensive guide. Frankly, it’s more than a little overwhelming. Despite having used WordPress for years, I was lost. I’m waiting for WordPress for Dummies for Dummies to come out.
Knowing more about the platform might not make much difference. Finding time to blog has been a challenge. Other activities keep me too busy to blog.
Beyond routine errands and chores, running is my top priority. Running shirtless is my preference — so much so that cold weather has always halted my running routine. That hasn’t happened this year. I check the forecast first thing every morning to see when conditions are most favorable for a run and plan my day accordingly. The earlier, the better. Running after my mandatory nap requires a lot of self-talk.
Waking from a nap with a desire to run does happen. More often, my first thought is to take the day off. Reminding myself that a good run justifies any and all inactivity and dietary lapses for the rest of the day is usually enough to change my mind.
Deciding what to wear takes time. Fashion plays a role in the final selection, but figuring out how much to wear is the challenge. Too much is as bad as too little. My goal is to wear enough to keep from getting cold without having to remove anything because I’m hot. Finding the right balance typically requires several test excursions. Everything has to match before I head out. I can’t help it. That’s just how I roll.
Dreaming and scheming about the 2022 garden season keeps me busy too. As always, the new season promises to be the best yet. I fill you in on my plans next time.
Happy New Year!
